A resident of one of the settlements in Brovary district, Alevtina, tells the former chairman, Fedorovich, about her sorrow. While she was on duty at a hospital in Kyiv, Russian forces entered her village, took her husband and son, and now the woman doesn’t even know where they are and what happened to them. After the occupiers left, the bodies of the men were not found among the deceased. Alevtina is doing everything she can to find out any information about her loved ones. Silent Fedorovich attentively listens to all this, but he definitely knows something.
The play is written in Ukrainian based on an interview with a resident of one of the villages in Brovary district, Kyiv region.
Occupation is often scarier than rocket attacks: it is prolonged, and it is difficult to defend against. Some people are physically destroyed, and all survivors are subjected to moral destruction – intimidation, violence, confiscation of property, imposition of absurd rules.

Tamara, a resident of a village in the Brovary district, finds herself in such conditions. She faces a difficult choice: what to do? This lonely 75-year-old woman, in many ways, has nothing to lose. That is why Granny Toma possesses the highest degree of freedom and fearlessness. In her youth, she worked in military units and knows weapons. While interacting with the occupiers, even feeding them, every day the elderly woman monitors the positions of the invaders and reports them to her nephew, who leads the territorial defense unit.
Despite encountering some decent individuals among the Russian military, as a whole, the occupiers embody refined evil. Alongside other participants of the territorial defense, the protagonist ultimately triumphs, closing the gestalt of Ukrainian fighters for national liberation.

The monoplay is based on interviews with residents of the Brovary district in the Kyiv region.

Twenty-five-year-old Anya Serebryanko becomes a political journalist. The girl likes her new job so much that she takes all its costs for granted. The profession covers Serebryanko with a shell of “healthy journalistic cynicism”, which, it would seem, is impossible to break through. A two-headed mayoral candidate manages to do this, who turns out to be so inventive that to increase his chances in the elections, he runs both heads separately. Bora tries to save the world from the monster in a Batman costume, but two more grow in place of the severed head of the candidate, like in a fairy tale. The dragon turns out to be tenacious and strong, and the “batmen” are too useless and preoccupied with themselves to defeat him.

The play includes elements of the author’s biography.

Participants of the Ukrainian political scene are guessed in each of the heads of the political dragon. Which, however, are easily transformed into any other world politicians.

The play is “stitched” by the image of fog – a metaphor for lies and manipulation: in politics and everyday life.

Modern humans live in such a polluted information space that they lose sensitivity to the most terrible things. Terrorism, infant mortality, gender inequality, environmental pollution, war – all this, mixed with information slop, seems as insignificant as serials, advertising, chatter, or entertainment programs. A person listens but does not hear. Like the protagonist of the play, percussionist Sergei. Raising his son, solving personal problems, and trying to write compositions, he is dreaming of only one thing: an impenetrable cocoon – a room of absolute silence. And according to his moral qualities, in the end, he acquires them.

The action of the play takes place against the backdrop of a surreal geopolitical catastrophe that is a part of an advertising campaign for a large cement manufacturer.

According to the laws of drama, the hero must make decisions, but Sergei is unable to do so. And at the most crucial moment, he shifts the responsibility for his choice to the audience, so the play has two endings.

In the docudrama, representatives of the yellow-throated youth converge with the hard-working functionaries, nurtured by the Soviet system. Four young people enter the service in the district police department. The goals and motives are different for everyone, but everyone faces the choice: to become a part of the system or out of it “spit out”. Slowly, gradually they are drawn into the process, and now the idealists who came to the police to fight crime are themselves transgressing the law: here one must be able to torture, throw up weapons, substitute colleagues, bribe the bosses and make a disclosure plan by any means.

These rules do not take only the main character – Vera, who suddenly turns out to be the daughter of the chief of the district department of Kovalev. The girl leaves the organs, abandoning her career for the sake of man in itself.

There is no division into “good” and “bad.” And even “the main villain” Kovalev turns out to be a traumatized person who suffers from life and himself.

The play is written based on interviews with former law enforcement officers: behind each of the heroes are real people.

The play became the winner of the festivals “Tyzhden actuality” (Kyiv, 2013), “Lyubimovka” (2014), “Free Theater” (London – Minsk, 2016).
